There are a couple of things you can do beyond basic dental hygiene to help your teeth. Their simple, easy habits that integrate seamlessly into daily life. Chewing gum and eating well are great ways to help your smile!
Eat Well: Make sure to get a lot of calcium-filled foods into your diet. Dairy is a great way to go, with delicious options such as cheese, yogurt, and animal milk. If you can’t have dairy, eat lots of dairy-free calcium-rich food such as dark leafy greens, beans, and fortified tofu or orange juice. Be careful with orange juice, as it has a lot of sugars and acids. Drink it with a tall glass of water.
Avoid sticky, starchy, and sugary foods. These tend to stick to teeth for a long time; this prolonged contact with the tooth leads to enamel erosion and bacterial growth.
Chew Gum: After eating, your mouth is particularly sensitive to abrasion. This is particularly true after you eat acidic foods. Rather than letting the food and debris sit in your mouth until you can brush, try chewing a piece of sugar-free gum. This stimulates saliva flow, which cleans your teeth.
